Intro to Bird Watching – Free Workshop!

Free – $5Grab your binoculars, a note book, and head to Longwoods Road Conservation Area for a brief introduction to bird watching with Christina Carter! Learn some of the basics of bird watching, take to the trails, and discover some of the birds you can see in this part of Southwestern Ontario. Gather at the Resource Centre/Ska-Nah-Doht Museum on Wednesday, June 15, at 2 p.m. sharp!
Who is Christina Carter? – Christina grew up in Ontario with an interest in wildlife and nature. She later wanted to become a Wildlife Biologist and began her studies in Zoology at the University of Western Ontario. She continued her studies by specializing in Ornithology during her Master’s in Environmental Studies at York University. During these programs, Christina studied birds in a number of specialized courses, as well as during her Master’s program on migratory birds in fragmented forests and coffee plantations in Costa Rica. She has travelled the world to observe bird species in different regions, and now works as a Wildlife Biologist for an environmental consulting firm, assessing habitats to protect wildlife and vegetation from nearby development. Christina also does volunteer bird hikes and various bird conservation projects including the Ontario Breeding Bird Atlas.
