About This Area
Osprey Wetlands spans over 2,630 ha (6,500 acres), NVCA owns and manages over 283 ha (700 acres) for conservation purposes, divided between two locations. Best seen by snowshoe in the winter months, this wetland remains relatively undisturbed. There is a diverse array of wildlife habitat including a unique esker (long winding ridge of sand and gravel) surrounded by pockets of White Pine, Black Spruce and mixed hardwoods, with characteristics similar to more northern forests. It is an area of natural scientific interest (ANSI). Hunting with appropriate permit is permitted at this property.
