The Squirrel Creek Conservation Area is on the Otonabee River and is maintained by the Township of Otonabee South Monaghan. The gates are opened at 10:00 a.m. and locked at 9:00 p.m. on the May 24th weekend (starting Saturday, May 22, 2010) and close for the season after the Labour Day weekend. Here you will find a public beach, two picnic shelters and two (w) ball diamonds. The shelters and diamonds can be rented for family reunions or other functions. It also has a boat launch area- remember to get back before the gates lock at 9:00 p.m. There is no overnight camping at Squirrel Creek.
